House Raffle News & Updates
The Ocean Institute has already run four Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffles in past years. This year's raffle kicked off today and runs until October, when one lucky person will win a stunning new home with an estimated value of $1 million (or $1 million in cash). Tickets cost $150 each and a maximum of 22,000 will be sold.
The annual raffle is the biggest fundraiser for the Ocean Institute. The four previous raffles helped give away one home and some $3 million in grand prizes, along with hundreds of other prizes along the way. Last year's raffle was so successful it sold out. Robert Bragaglia, from San Clemente, won a $1.2 million home - but opted for the $1 million cash prize instead.
In a recent interview in the Dana Point Times, Greg Goggin, developer of the raffle for the Institute reiterated how successful this annual event has now become: “The home raffle has truly become a ‘home run’ for the Institute and the hundreds of people who have entered the raffle and won prizes over the past 4 years. It’s a great way for the Ocean Institute to raise awareness while raising funds for the benefit of the school children the Ocean Institute serves. We’re proud we have built one of the few successful and sustainable home raffles in the state.”
In addition to the grand prize, other prizes include two Toyota Prius cars, computers, holidays, spa packages, shopping sprees, together with various cash prizes of up to $15,000. The first 'early bird' drawing takes place on August 19th so you have plenty of time to enter.
